The food, the flowers, the music . . .
As the happiest of couples will tell you, the wedding takes a lot of time and energy, but so does the marriage. Marital success is not a matter of luck nor is marital failure a mystery, as researchers have discovered over the past 30 years. Couples can learn skills, complete exercises, and enhance ways of thinking that increase their odds of success.
JCFS offers two programs that give couples the skills they need to stay happily married for a lifetime. Through our guidance, couples will explore the shared meaning of marriage, while discovering the mutual purpose in building a life together.
Marriage Preparation
Meet with a specially trained counselor, learning a range of skills to use throughout your life. Complete on-line assessments, identifying your unique strengths and challenges. Meet with your counselor for up to eight sessions.
Address your individual situation including:
- Communicating effectively
- Problem solving as a couple
- Managing conflict without damaging closeness
- Preserving and enhancing commitment and friendship
Chuppah Project

- Expectations of your marriage
- The family you came from, the family you are forming
