Proactive Planning for Organizations and Communities
The Jewish Community Emergency Resiliency Team, also known as J-CERT, exists to help support Jewish organizations and communities in responding to, handling and recovering from crises. With a mission of keeping organizations’ key stakeholders – its staff members, clients and visitors – as safe as possible while in our care, J-CERT is designed to help organizations be proactive in their emergency planning or “readiness.”
The initiative also encourages collaboration among non-profit organizations, and local, state and federal health, safety and emergency personnel to develop and maintain plans for coping with a variety of critical incidents.
J-CERT is a program of the Jewish United Fund and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, along Jewish Child & Family Services, Jewish Vocational Services, Jewish Community Center and CJG Senior Life that work collaboratively.
